NY400 Week / Holland on the Hudson presents Pioneers of Change, a festival of Dutch design, fashion and architecture on New York's Governors Island to celebrate 400 years of Dutch-American friendship.

Activities will take place in and around eleven officers' houses at Nolan Park, Governors Island, New York.

About Christien Meindertsma
Christien Meindertsma was born in Utrecht in 1980 and graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2003. She now has a label called FLOCKS for which she designs knitwear and interior products, and she also designs books and undertakes other independent projects, such as her three year study of all the products made from a single pig, which she compiled in a book, PIG 05049 and exhibited in the Kunsthal in Rotterdam in 2008. Christien Meindertsma’s main interest is researching the origin of products, their raw materials and the history of techniques.
